About the Event
Each year hundreds of Atlantan’s, including MDA patients, their families, friends and corporate leaders come together in the fall for a day of fellowship, fun and to raise funds for the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s research and program services. Now in its fifth year, the 2007 MDA Walk of Hope will be held on Saturday, November 10th at ZooAtlanta.
Funds raised by the walk are used by MDA to fund disease specific research and to provide local services to area patients and families. These services include MDA Clinics at Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, help with providing medical equipment (such as wheelchairs, braces or communication devices), support groups for families and a magical week at MDA Camp “Walk and Roll” each summer.
Bu participating in the Walk of Hope, team captains, walkers, corporate sponsors and donors have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those affected by one of 43 different neuromuscular diseases including ALS (or Lou Gehrig’s Disease), Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
Anyone can be a part of the fight against these neuromuscular diseases and help bring hope to hundreds of local families. The Walk of Hope at ZooAtlanta is wheelchair accessible and the festivities during the day will include something for everyone! Register today to be part of all the fun!
